Sad news

I admit it jumped the shark recently, but Nip/Tuck has been cancelled. Damn. What am I going to do without Dr. Troy & Dr. McNamara? I was going to make a joke that Julian McMahon can always go home & be on Home and Away bc he was the only aussie actor to not have appeared on that or Neighbours, but I was wrong, even he was on Home and Away!

True Blood is back! I am so happy the show has returned, I just love it, and it has nothing to do with Ryan Kwaten, the hot aussie boy on it. Ok well maybe it has a LITTLE bit to do with that, but I still love the show!

Why I love the E! channel

I refuse to discuss Heidi & Spencer on here as they are a waste of space, but I L-O-V-E the fact that E! ran a survey & 94% of their audience voted to keep the network from talking about the Pratts so they are now banned from E!. YAY. Now I have two reasons to love E!, that & Joel McHale on The Soup.

Help the victims of the bushfires

This firefighter giving this Koala water when he found her after the fire made me instantly teary eyed. The good news is she is at the vet & will be ok. If you are in Melbourne & want to help the animal victims of this tragedy, I read about two places where you can donate. 1. 4 Paws & More Pet Supplies in Keilor Park (60 Keilor Park Drive,) wish to advise that from Monday 8 February, they will accept  pet goods/pet food, that will be distributed to those who most need them. 2. The University of Melbourne has a collection point to help the animals (both domestic/native) in the Victorian bushfires. So if you have blankets,towels, sheets, animal food (cat, dog, bird etc), bowls or containers for water/food, you can drop them off at 215 Grattan Street by Friday. (Also, don't forget to help people, you can donate at www.redcross.org.au)

Then she was on a talk show the other day & said she started crying when she found a grey hair, and that just did it for me. Really? I admit I have a Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana song on my ipod & I am not sure why people went crazy over her Vanity Fair photos last year (I didn't think they were that bad) or why people hate her. However when she was asked in an interview the other day about the car she just got for her 16th birthday, and she made a face and rolled her eyes bc the PORSCHE that she got was used (it was her mom's) that is when I lost it. Seriously there are kids are losing their homes bc their parents are out of work & this twit complains bc her Porsche was used? No. I am done with Miley now.

WTF of the Year - Australia edition

When asked about the movie AUSTRALIA, Nicole Kidman said in an interview this week: "I can't look at this movie and be proud of what I've done." And then she left the country because: "We ran because I didn't want to read anything. I didn't want to know. I saw my sister and my family and we saw Keith's family and then we were straight on a plane."
WOW. I am amazed that you are not proud of that movie that had so much riding on it for your country. I was really shocked by that. I know not everyone loved it but to say you are not proud of being in such an "aussie" movie is horrible. In my opinion. So Baz, call me for the sequel!

AUSTRALIA, my island home

I don't listen to critics bc it is just one person's opinion. Here is my review of Australia the movie. I LOVED IT. Done. I don't know what the problem was that all of these "critics" had with it. I admit I am bias & yes some of the story was predictable & a bit cheesy, but so what? The little boy was so gorgeous & did an amazing job, Hugh Jackman was born for this role (I am so happy Russell Crowe passed on it) & our country looked beautiful. Some scenes looked like an ad for the Northern Territory. I laughed & cried, I think I cried bc I was happy in some parts, sad in others, & just homesick in others!

I was thinking maybe the critics/American audiences would struggle with not knowing much about Aboriginal culture & how it relates to the movie? I know most of my friends here wouldn't understand a "walkabout", so maybe that is what the critics didn't get? BUT I have to say, not to be mean, the real problem with Nicole is that her face does not move. It was kind of annoying me in the film, seriously not much emotion can be shown on you face when it is frozen. Oy.

Ok so I am glad that out of the final two that Wes won, but seriously this was a great performance by Spano, in front of the Opera House, in the rain, singing my fave song. He should have won!

Kath & Kim in the US

I really tried to be open minded when I watched the US version, but God it was just awful. I couldn't even make it through the whole second episode. I guess all of Australia agrees with me bc it has been taken off the air in OZ after 2 episodes! 

Good news is Summer Heights High starts airing on HBO on November 9th! YAY! Hopefully this will translate better.

Coffe, tea, or Double D's

All I can say about the debate last night was that I don't feel bad about Joe the plumber. He got more publicity last night then Paris's vagina. Seriously I will bet money that he will be on the cover of People Magazine this week, on Access Hollywood & probably the opening of some LA hotspot.
I don't want to talk about politics anymore bc I am so over it. So here is a non-political question to ponder...if Joe the Plumber, Joe Camel, Joe Six pack and Buffy the Vampire Slayer got into a fight...who would win?

Danity Kane Damaged Debate

I know everyone is talking about the presidential debates this week. But let's get to the real issue in country. Is Danity Kane really breaking up? Diddy put the smack down on Aubrey on the finale and I totally agree with him. I was hoping they would have asked someone in the audience the real question of the evening.."Do you, do you, do you have a first aid kit handy?" (That song gets stuck in my head like you would not believe)

AB/Fab-solutely NOT!

Sweetie dahling, say it isn't so. The US is very close to creating an American version of the hit Brit series Absolutely Fabulous.  This would be disastrous! Ab/Fab is one of the only shows that make me laugh out loud every time I watch it.No one can replace the original and genius, Jennifer Saunders....
